McLean Youth Track and Field provides Northern Virginia kids (ages 5 through middle school) with opportunities to learn about, compete in and develop a love for track and field.

MYTF Golden Rules

We have very few hard-and-fast rules at McLean Youth Track.  But we are unbending about the following three rules:

Positive Coaching - Whether you have the official title of coach or not, all adults who participate in our meets and practices have a role in encouraging our kids to strive for their personal best.  We do not tolerate yelling, abusive comments or hyper-competitve attitudes.  If that is the manner in which you choose to motivate your child(ren) to do their best, our program is not the right program for you.

Volunteering - It takes a great deal of time and effort to run this program.  We are an all-volunteer organization, and we simply cannot run the program without the commitment and involvement of parents.  We expect each family to make a volunteer commitment at meets, practices or with back-office tasks.

Adult Supervision - While participating in MYTF meets, practices and other events, your child(ren) must always be under the supervision of a desigated adult (other than a coach).  You may not drop your child(ren) off at a meet or practice and head to the grocery store.  Please always ensure that you (or another adult who you designate) is physically present at all MYTF events.

Please let us know if you have any questions about our MYTF Golden Rules.
